PARENT PROGRAMS

Parent Discussions

Over the course of the school year, the Reading Team conducts a series of parent discussions to teach parents some simple and positive things they can do to support their children’s success.

Topics include:

• Milestones in early literacy development
• How to engage young children in a wide range of literacy-nurturing activities
• Parent’ responsibility for their children’s education
  

Elementary School Advisory Program

Our Parent Programs Coordinator advises and supports parents as they make important decisions about their children’s schooling. We provide lists of schools and programs and refer parents to appropriate testing services. We also help fill out and submit applications, write reference letters, and put parents in touch with other useful resources.
